RUPERT JASO
Coach Jaso is in his 18th year of teaching in CCISD and 18th with the Clear Lake Baseball program. He is entering in his 3rd year as the Head Coach of the Falcons. Coach Jaso was a four time all-district baseball player as well as a two time all-district QB at Goliad High School. After competing with the baseball programs and serving as team captain at Laredo Jr. College and Texas Southern University, Coach Jaso began his teaching/coaching career at Space Center Intermediate and Clear Lake High School. In addition to his teaching/coaching duties, Coach Jaso has also served as an associate scout with the San Diego Padres. Coach Jaso is married to his wonderful wife Tami and they have 3 beautiful girls, Kynzi 16, Lexi 13, and Bri 6. Coach Jaso enjoys spending time with his family, projects at the house and any sports event on tv or live, especially those associated with Clear Lake. Coach Jaso is in his 10th year of teaching health at Clear Lake High School.
JOE BETTERS
Coach Betters returns for his 12th year as a coach at Clear Lake High School. He is in his 3rd year as varsity assistant coach for the 2010 season. He is a Clear Lake High School alumni and was an All-State second baseman with a .423 batting average and 17 stolen bases in 1989. Coach Betters played 4 years as a middle infielder for the University of Houston (1990-1993) and served as their first base coach in 1994. Coach Betters is engaged to Lydia Ramirez. Lydia is the bookkeeper at Space Center Intermediate School. Coach Betters enjoys playing golf and collecting baseball cards.
RICHARD DAVIS
Coach Davis is in his 3rd year at Clear Lake and has been coaching for 8 years overall. Prior to that, while going to college, he also worked as a varsity scout and volunteer assistant for the baseball program at his alma mater in LaMarque from 1993-1997. Coach Davis grew up in La Marque and graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin. Coach Davis is married to his darling wife Jean. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with family and playing golf. He is the Varsity Defensive Ends coach here at Lake and also teaches English.
TRAE GRIMES
Coach Grimes is in his 2nd year at Lake. He grew up in Austin, Texas and attended Westwood High School where he was a 3-year varsity starter on the football team. He attended Blinn Junior College after high school and later transferred to Texas A&M Commerce. Coach Grimes started all three years at Texas A&M Commerce and earned all-conference honors two of the three years he was there. This baseball season he is looking forward to helping develop young men and athletes to realize their potential and helping varsity reach the playoffs. He will be coaching the sophomore baseball team this spring. In addition to his baseball duties, he will be teaching BCIS and he coached freshman football last fall.. Coach Grimes is married to Randi and they have one son, Dixon (3). Coach Grimes enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing
